stylemepretty : max wagner
i stumbled upon this gorgeous wedding on stylemepretty when doing research for event inspiration. the colors and decor perfectly support the brides flowy bohemian dress. it has the feeling of being sort of underdone and light as a feather. captured perfectly by photographer max wagner. stunning.
fashion editorials are meant to inspire. to fantasize clothing and bring them to life by telling a story - allowing the clothing to be the narrative supported by their setting. this story, from paris vogue's february 2010 issue, is no exception. in fact - it does what, in my opinion, american vogue has fallen short on of late. it is at once fresh, edgy, beautiful and creative. above all - inspiring.

marc jacobs fall 2010sequins, feather, velvets, shimmering pvc? marc jacob's fall 2010 runway show was certainly not without texture. effortlessly coordinating tweeds, furs, leather and seemingly anything else he could get his hands on, the collection had the feel of a little girl playing dress up. how appropriate. what girl doesn't want to wear it all at once?
chris benz fall 2010
chris benz's fearless use of color in his fall 2010 collection has given a refreshing jolt to the disheveled 1970's inspired looks we've seen coming down the runways. all of the elements are here; fur, embellishment, retro silhouettes, and perhaps most important - a full spectrum of muted down colors. it may still be raining (or snowing rather) but it seems likely that when you look close enough, the colors are trickling back in.
in keeping with the school girl chic looks we saw for pre-fall 2010 this girl about town hits the mark while making her rounds in new york this weekend for the all important fall 2010 fashion week shows. featured on garance dore's french answer to the sartorialist, besides being tres chic (clearly) she's quite stunning, no? ( i'm not biased or anything...)
